We’ve all been in the situation where you have hardly any time to get ready and you want to look like you’ve made an effort and look your best. I recently popped together a simple but effective make up look that should mean you’re ready in no time at all and it even includes a soft and subtle smokey eye!
The make up look is pretty simple but still effective! It’s uses only a few make up products – many of which you’ll probably have in your everyday make up bag.
I started by taking my HangoverX primer by TwoFaced. I only use a small amount as I find if I use too much it rubs off of my face when I’m applying my foundation!
For my foundation I used my NARS Sheer Glow in Deuville. This foundation is perfect for my skin type! I’ve never had a problem with it sticking to dry patches or looking dry throughout the day.
I then moved onto contour and bronzer and for this I used Benefit’s Hoola. This has been a go to for me for so many years now. I often use it as my crease shade during the week for a minimal look!
For highlight I used MAC’s soft and gentle which is so good! I purchased this back in the summer and haven’t been without it since. I wish I’d have tried this sooner! I also use this under my brow bone and on the inner corners of my eyes.
I used a Revolution bakes blush but unfortunately the shade has rubbed off of the packaging.
For brows I used Fleur De Force’s eyebrow pencil in the shade ‘dark’. I get my eyebrows threaded which makes filling them in fairly quick and easy. I then set them with Maybeline’s Brow Drama brow fixer.
For my eyes I used my Tarte In Bloom palette which is one of my favourite ever palettes. I took the shade Flower Child across the whole of my lid. I then took Smarty Pants through my crease and Jetsetter on the outer of my eye. I then took the shade Funny Girl on the centre of my lid.
Once I was happy with the blending of the shades I took my Kat Von D liquid line and lined my lids. One of my goals from the past year was to nail wing liner and I can’t say I’ve completely mastered it but I’ve definitely embraced it more and challenged myself. Of course, if you’re in a super rush I would 100% recommend skipping the wing but lining is so straight forward.
I then went in with my mascara and used the Tarte Lights Camera Action. This has quickly become one of my favourite mascaras along with some in the Revlon range.
I finished up with a swipe of MAC’s Brave. Of course, if this is a festive look a swipe of red lipstick would look great.
