I have wanted to try Charlotte Tilbury for some time. However, I don’t have a store that sells Charlotte Tilbury near to where I live so have never been able to swatch the products. I like to be able to swatch before I buy as you can never be too sure of the quality or the colour pay off without trying. Whilst I was visiting Bicester Village (which I wrote about in my last post) I came across a Charlotte Tilbury pop up boutique.
The boutique is home to a number of limited editions and one of pieces. It also has some of the advent calendars from last year. I picked up one of the limited edition ‘Quick ‘n’ Easy Make Up’ sets in the smokey eye look. There were two products in here that I’ve wanted to try – the lipstick and the mascara.
The set itself comes in this semi clear bag which I will definitely be using when I travel with my make up. It’s a great size for holding the essentials needed. I also love the design with the lipstick kisses. In the bag you get 4 items, 2 are full size and 2 are mini’s so for the price of £25 this is a pretty good deal!
The set I decided on (after a good 10 minutes of deliberation!) came with a full size lipstick, full size rock and kohl liner, mini legendary lashes mascara and a mini colour chameleon eyeshadow stick.
The lipstick comes in the shade Penelope Pink and retails for £24. The shade is a gorgeous nude colour. It is so comfortable on the lips, it’s not a matte shade and has a slight sheen. It has a good wear time considering it’s not matte and lasted on me for the majority of the morning with a top up needed after my lunch. I had wanted to try a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick for such a long time and it definitely lived up to expectations!
I have to talk about the mascara! This is hands down one of the best I have ever tried. I’m so sad it’s a mini and that it’ll end soon, but this has now gone on my Christmas list! It made my lashes look incredibly fluttery and voluminous but didn’t make them look clumpy or spidery. The brush is a classic bristle brush and seems to grab each and every lash as it passes.
I’m yet to try the colour chameleon or eyeliner but I’m planning to incorporate them into one of my Christmas looks coming up during December! But, even if I don’t get on with them – which I highly doubt will be the case judging from the lipstick and mascara – this set was still definitely worth it for the money! Considering the lipstick alone is £24 you could look it that you’re getting 3 extra products for £1! Overall I’m definitely happy I picked this up and will be visiting the store again before it leaves in January!
