Whilst visiting my boyfriend in America I of course took a trip to Sephora and the US drugstores. I had a gift card for Sephora to use which my boyfriend got me for Christmas. I think I could have easily got so much more, but I am on a bit of a one in one out system still so had to reign myself in!
First up is Sephora which is my favourite place to shop for make up – ever! I love just wandering around swatching everything and there is so much to swatch! I only picked up a few items but I am debating a few other items which I might still get shipped to the UK or see if I can find them anywhere in the UK.
I picked up a Too Faced HangoverX Primer as I’ve been debating it for a while. I’ve used Benefit Porefessional for years and I think this has something to do with my foundation sometimes caking and sticking to my dry patches. The Too Faced primer is more like a moisturiser so I’m hoping this helps my foundation to last all day and keep my skin a little more hydrated!
I’ve lusted after the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner for so long! It’s such a cult product and I don’t know why I’ve not picked it up before. I swatched it in store and it was such a strong black! I love my Soap and Glory Supercat liner so I’ll definitely see how it compares but I have high hopes.
Lastly, I picked up a Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Pink Tea. I swatched Too Faced’s Melted Matte Liquefied Lipstick in Cool Girl and the Sephora shade is a perfect dupe! I swapped the Too Faced one for the Sephora one and was pretty happy with myself!
I’m currently still lusting after the Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Palette in Golden Hour. I know these are available in the UK so might have to make a purchase…! I’m also thinking about purchasing the Tarte Skin Twinkle Lighting Palette. I don’t own a highlighting palette (how I don’t own one I don’t know!) so I’m definitely on the look out for one!
Next up I visited the drugstore – some of these drugstores have so many different brands it’s overwhelming! I went with the sole purpose of picking up some Wet N Wild products to try. I managed to pick up one of the five things on my list – the other four were unfortunately sold out!
Top of my list was the Wet n Wild Eye Shadow Trio in Walking on Eggshells so I was very happy there were a few of these left on the stand. I’ve heard so much about these eyeshadow palettes over the past few years or so and I always forget to pick them up when I’m in America. I made sure to pick one up this time and I’m really looking forward to trying it.
I also picked up the Wet N Wild Megaglo Highlighting Powder. When I swatched this the payoff was amazing! As I was unable to get the other products I wanted I decided to go for this and see what it’s like. I’m hoping it works as well on my face as it did on my hand and will last all day!
I think there will be an even bigger list coming together for next time I’m here to visit! Let me know in the comments below if you have any recommendations!
