Happy Birthday, TheLissaWay

TheLissaWay is 1!

It’s been a year since I took the plunge to create my space on the internet for all of my beauty ramblings. In the year I’ve been blogging I’ve learned a fair few things.

Sometimes, I don’t know where to start when it comes to my blog. There’s so much emphasis on having a super fancy blog with amazing pictures and content every day but in reality it’s so hard to achieve this – even if it was your full-time job I don’t think everyday is possible.

It is so easy to compare yourself to other bloggers and their own blogs. But, at the end of the day, why do I do this? Because, I shouldn’t be comparing myself – I wrote this blog for me. Comparing my blog to someone else’s is really pointless. Why would I want my blog to be the same as someone else’s?

I’ve come to learn that having ‘bloggers block’ is okay. I don’t want to write about something just because I haven’t put a post up in a week! I like to think that what I’m writing about is relevant and that I’ve enjoyed writing about it – after all, this was something I started as an outlet to enjoy! One of my 25 Before 25 goals was to blog at least once a week, and so far I know this hasn’t happened.

One year in and I’m still loving blogging. I write about what I want to when I want to. I know I might not be blogging as regularly as I like and probably going against all ‘blogging advice’ by doing this but sometimes I think too much of the ‘blog advice’ is bad for you! Reading into too much can be overwhelming and can take the joy out of blogging!

Happy Birthday, TheLissaWay. Here’s to another year.
