First Impressions: Tarte ‘In Bloom’ Palette

If you read my previous post, you’ll know I recently visited Sephora. Whilst there I  picked up this Tarte eyeshadow palette. I had my eye on this before I went to New York and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! From what I had seen it was my perfect palette – neutral bronze shades. In store I headed straight for the counter and without hesitation put it straight into my basket.

Once I got back to the hotel I couldn’t wait to open it and swatch all of the colours! It was exactly what I had hoped for and more. It had the perfect gold shade I was looking for to use for my make up for a wedding whilst I was there.

One of the first things that strikes me about this palette is the packaging! I love the pinks and purples and it reminds me of a bunch of flowers which suits the ‘In Bloom’ just perfectly. The palette comes with a large mirror which comes in very handy. It is quite light although the packaging doesn’t feel cheap at all.

The colours inside are perfect for me and I can honestly say I will use every single shade. The darkest browns will come in great for extra smokey eyes or as definition along my lash line in place of an eyeliner for a more subtle look.

For my wedding look, I used ‘Funny Girl’ across the whole of my lid. I then used ‘Smarty Pants’ in the crease for definition. I used ‘Firecracker’ on the outer corner of my lid. I used ‘Smokeshow’ on top of my eyeliner to help create a wing. The eyeshadow lasted all day and after a small top up in the evening they lasted well into the early hours through lots of dancing!

My first impressions are that I love this palette. The shadows are very pigmented and buttery. They give a lot of pay off and they don’t have any fall out when applied. The colours are great for everyday and the darker shades are great for creating a smokey eye for an evening look. I am looking forward to using it more in the future and creating some different looks.

The palette can be picked up on the Tarte website for £33.

What a nice packaging and great colors! How’s the pay off and how long can you wear them without fading? Can’t wait for my first Sephora visit 😮
