Sephora Haul

I couldn’t go to America and not visit a Sephora! I visited the Herald Street store in New York and was in make up heaven as soon as I walked in! My boyfriend also didn’t complain much about how long I was in there, thanks to the free wifi.

Before I talk about products, I want to touch on how helpful and friendly the staff were! The assistant that helped me couldn’t do more for me and even took my round different concessions trying to find me the perfect matte lip cream. The cashier was also amazing. As I wouldn’t be able to collect my birthday gift she gave it to me early which I thought was above and beyond good customer service. I will 100% be visiting a Sephora when I’m next near one (why are they not in the UK yet?!) and I will be placing an order online once I have enough in my basket to justify the shipping!

Now, onto what this whole post is about – the products. I was quite good and did stick to what I had on my list and even ended up getting rid of a few things because they either weren’t what I’d hoped or I decided I could find alternatives. You’ll see my original list in my Make Up Wishlist. I came away with two of the items I wanted most from that list together with some other bits and pieces.

Lets all take a minute to appreciate bad hotel photography – but I had to get a photo before using them!

Tarte ‘In Bloom’ Palette
I wanted this palette ever since FleurDeForce showed it in a video. It has certainly lived up to what I’d hope *SPOILER – There’s a review coming soon!*
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation
This was one item I knew I wanted no matter what. I picked this up in Light Neutral (I’m NW15 in MAC) and it is amazing. I wore this to a wedding whilst in America and it lasted perfectly all day!
Sephora Face and Eye Masks
My skin wasn’t doing too well after an 8 hour flight, heavy make up for wedding events and the early mornings and late nights for the wedding celebrations. The eye masks were a life saver! They rescued my dull tired looking eyes and super dry skin. I’m trying to save the ones I have left for when I really need them but I already have these in my online basket!
Sephora Cream Lip Stain
After much deliberation I went for ‘Pink Soufflé’ and I am very happy with my choice. It is just a little more pink than my own lips yet still subtle. It lasts a reasonable amount of time and isn’t too drying.
Sephora Full Action Extreme Effect Mascara
I went with all good intentions of purchasing the Tarte ‘Lights Camera Flashes’ mascara. Unfortunately, this was sold out when I visited so took the advice of the assistant and tried one of Sephora’s. This mascara does everything it says on the tube! It makes my lashes look fuller and longer. I wish I had got another tube!
Sephora Supreme Cleansing Oil
I love cleansing oils especially the Body Shop Camomile cleansing oil and thought I would see how this one compares. I haven’t had chance to use this much just yet, but so far so good.

I also received a free sample of Origins Ginzing Moisturiser which had a really generous amount in. I’ve thought about purchasing this moisturiser for a while and after using the sample I think I’ll be purchasing when I next need a moisturiser! As mentioned before, I also got my birthday gift and I picked the mini set from Marc Jacobs.

All in all, I would say it was a very successful trip! Have you got any recommendations of products I should add to my basket? Let me know in the comments below!
