Tag Saturday

So, after last Saturday’s post with the ‘Get to Know Me’ tag, I thought I would continue the theme. I saw the ‘Beauty Blogger’ tag on Emily Mae’s blog and thought I would give it a go.

Skin Care

1. How many times do you wash your face daily?

I wash my face twice a day. In the morning I cleanse with my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. In the evening I use the Cleanse and Polish to remove my make up but will also use an exfoliator if it’s the night to do this (I do this every two days) or will double cleanse to ensure every last bit of make up is removed.

2. What skin type do you have?

I have really dry, dehydrated skin. It is getting better as I’m trying to drink more water. Recently I’ve had a few more break outs here and there but my skin never feels oily.

3. What is your current facial wash?

I don’t use a facial wash as such as I tend to find washes that foam tend to make my skin feel tight and more dry than usual. Therefore, in terms of washing my face I use the Cleanse and Polish.

4. Do you exfoliate?

Yes, but only recently have I discovered how much of a difference it makes to my skin!

5. What brand do you use?

I’m currently using a Nivea exfoliating scrub. Now that I’ve seen what a difference it makes, I might look into other ones on the market.

6. What moisturiser do you use?

I’m using a mixture at the moment. I’m still making my way through a Bobbi Brown Hydrating moisturiser. This has almost come to an end so I’ve also got a Superdrug Vitamin E day cream on the go. In the evenings I’ve been using Garnier Moisture Bomb.

7. Do you have freckles?

Yes, I have quite a few on my nose and cheeks. I try to hide them with full coverage foundations.

8. Do you use eye cream?

Yes, although I go through stages of applying it everyday and night and then I just forget for a few days.

9. Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

I’ve never had acne, just a few spots here and there.

10. Did you ever use Pro-activ?

11. What foundation do you use?

I’m a bit of a foundation addict and I have a few on the go for different occasions. Currently, my everyday foundation is Rimmel Perfect Match or Estee Lauder Double Wear Light. For day occasions I love my NARS Sheer Glow foundation. In the evenings I will wear Laura Mercier Silk Cream.

12. How about concealer?

I use Maybeline Age Rewind under my eyes and Collection Lasting Perfection on any redness or blemishes.

13. Do you know your undertone colour?

I believe I was told I have a cool undertone.

14. What do you think of fake eyelashes?

I think they’re amazing – if you can apply them! I love the three quarter length ones by FleurdeForce for Eylure. They are super easy to apply and don’t feel heavy on the eyes.

15. Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?

Yes, but I can’t say I obey this make up rule!

16. What brand of mascara do you use?

Max Factor mascaras are my all time favourite and I’m currently using the False Lash Effect.

17. Sephora or MAC?

Currently, I would say MAC. Although, this may change once I’ve been to Sephora in a couple of weeks time!

18. Do you have a MAC Pro-card?

I don’t.

19. What makeup tools do you use in makeup application?

I use the Real Techniques brushes. They are so affordable and are great for the price you pay. Although, I don’t think I could live without my MAC 217 for eyeshadow blending!

20. Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?

I don’t although I probably should!

21. For the face?

I use the Benefit Porefessional.

22. Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?

Both, depending on what look I’m going for. I usually use a brown pencil eyeliner on my lids during the day for a more relaxed look.

23. How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?

Luckily, not that often!

24. Do you use mineral makeup?

I’ve never used it!

25. How about lipgloss?

I used to love it when I was younger and wore clear gloss to school every day. Now I’d say I’m more of a lipstick wearer but still wear a gloss every now and again.

26. What is your favourite blush?

I love Benefit Dandelion. Mine seems to have lasted me forever!

27. Do you buy your makeup on eBay?

I would be too nervous to buy make up from eBay, I’ve seen so many horror stories where it’s had bad ingredients in and isn’t the legitimate product. Knowing my luck I’d end up with something dodgy!

28. Do you like drugstore makeup?

Love drugstore makeup! I definitely think that the High Street has come a long way in terms of quality of affordable make up.

29. Did you ever consider taking makeup classes?

I studied Theatre Studies for A-Level and considered taking classes in theatrical make up, but nothing ever came of it.

30. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

I probably was back in the day, but these days I tend to make sure I have enough time to do whatever it is I want to do with my make up, rather than rushing and making a mess!

31. Name a makeup crime that you hate.

Badly drawn on eyebrows! Me and my boyfriend have been known to give each other a look if we both spot some bad ones whilst out and about!  I am all for filling in eyebrows to make them more even as I do it myself. But when they look like boxes and are more like slugs, it makes me cringe inside!

32. Do you like colourful shades of makeup or neutral ones?

On me, definitely neutrals.

33. If you could leave the house using just ONE makeup item, what would you use?

34. Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?

I do, although not very often. I’m very conscious of my freckles even though I know they aren’t that noticeable really!

35. What do you think of makeup?

I think make up is a great way for people to express themselves. I love experimenting with new pieces and seeing what does (and doesn’t) work for me. It’s a great way to get creative and can sometimes be really therapeutic!
